Barriere’s 6th Annual Safety and Total Process Reliability (TPR) Training Week took place from February 18 to 24. This is the third year our company-wide paid week of training was held at the Boutte Training Center, which opened three years ago. Both the event and the facility represent Barriere’s commitment to investing in people who are dedicated to the way we carry out our values through Partnership, Professionalism, and Operational Excellence.
After a year in which change was a constant, we were all encouraged to focus on the fundamentals of safety and who we are.
Training Week is one way we collectively carry out our Core Values. Management reports on data and presents resources that empower employees to develop successful career paths within the company. Employees ask questions and provide feedback that empowers themselves and the company to continuously improve overall performance, especially when it comes to safety. We celebrate each other through awards and recognition ceremonies and have some fun learning and practicing skills together as we rotate through training stations.
This year crews from each operating group – Baton Rouge, North Shore, and South Shore Asphalt Groups, and the Barriere Construction Group – rotated through seven stations relevant to the state of the company and their roles within it.
