Barriere named an ABC Top Performing Construction Company for Fifth Consecutive Year

Barriere is honored to be ranked as a 2024 Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Top
Performer for the fifth consecutive year.

Barriere ranked #68 on the Top 250 Performers List and #34 on the Top General Contractors list. The
rankings also included the top-performing companies in 18 market segments, with Barriere taking the #4
on the Top Infrastructure Contractors list.

For the last six years, ABC has published the Top Performers list as a supplement to Construction
Executive magazine, ranking qualified commercial and industrial contractor members by size based on
work hours.
Barriere is Louisiana’s largest asphalt producer and civil construction contractor of choice. We are
committed to operational excellence and industry-leading safety standards and initiatives. Our goal is to
be the best contractor to better serve our communities and customers. This is what drives the Barriere
Way and our B Guarantee to safely and successfully deliver a plan, effective processes and innovative
solutions to our valued clients. These rankings reflect Barriere’s commitment to the communities we
operate in each day throughout the Gulf South.

In addition to being an ABC Accredited Quality Contractor (AQC), Top Performers must also achieve Gold
status or higher in ABC’s Safety Training Evaluation Process (STEP) program, the standard for developing world-class management systems in construction. Barriere consistently earns Diamond status, the highest STEP level possible.

Through AQC and STEP, Top Performers prioritize the wellbeing of employees and their families, sustain
and grow their business and cultivate committed industry leadership. At Barriere, we do this by
upholding our Core Values to deliver quality projects safely and reliably, under budget and on time,
every time.
“Barriere bu

ilds the community’s most enduring, innovative, high-quality construction projects, and its
leadership team and employees have thriving, growth-centric mindsets, strategic plans and goals,” said
Michael Bellaman, president and CEO of ABC. “Business growth is never an accident. It results from a
combination of tangibles and intangibles—including a robust culture, innovative tools, a commitment to
total human health and a pragmatic appetite for risk. We congratulate Barriere, an exceptional
contractor, for operating successfully in a merit shop environment, attracting and retaining top
construction talent and setting the standard in business growth.”
