For the 9th year, Barriere has been awarded Diamond Commendations from the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA). Barriere’s three plants earned a total of nine commendations.   

Covering asphalt plant operations, terminal operations, asphalt production and paving, NAPA’s Diamond Commendation Program recognizes companies for following best practices proven to improve quality, safety and excellence. By implementing the program’s self-assessment process, companies become better equipped to benchmark their operations against a national standard, identify areas for improvement and earn national recognition for their commitment to quality.

NAPA awarded Barriere’s three plants – Baton Rouge Asphalt Group, North Shore Asphalt Group in Franklinton and South Shore Asphalt Group in Boutte – each with all three of the commendations detailed below.

• The Diamond Quality Commendation is awarded based on the quality of materials produced and covers quality management, RAP and aggregate handling, asphalt storage, drying and mixing, air quality, truck scales, silos and control rooms.
  
• The Diamond Achievement with Sustainable Commendation covers operations in and around the plant. Aspects addressed include appearance, operations, environmental practices, safety, regulatory compliance and community relations.
  
• The Diamond Paving Commendation recognizes paving crews who utilize best practices and excel in areas including compliance and training of supervisors and crew members.

Barriere is honored to receive these commendations which offer both a blueprint and a reward for achieving excellence in all aspects of operations.
