It has been an exciting year in terms of training and development initiatives across the organization! Several learning opportunities have occurred in the areas of Safety, Total Process Reliability, and Leadership Development.
Annual Training Week Activities
This year we held our annual Safety and Total Process Reliability Training at Louisiana CAT during the week of February 11th-15th. During this year’s event, our Value Proposition was unveiled to our hourly employees and new PPE with our new logo was disseminated. The team also received a refresher on our “Journey to Zero” efforts along with “The 6”. Also, during this time, all Field Leaders received a refresher training on how to provide Performance Evaluations and Timesheets at River Parishes Community College.
We brought the supervisors over to sit with their crews and learn about the Mentor Program and their responsibilities in this process. After lunch, we broke the group up into smaller groups where they each got an opportunity to participate in hands-on activities. The outdoor activities included Crew Repairs, Securing the Jobsite, Safe Zones/Blind Spots and the Equipment Rodeo.
The Equipment Rodeo featured a challenge of who is the best (and safest) operator with multiple obstacles that the operator had to complete with the assistance of a designated spotter. This hands-on activity incorporated proper communication on the job and encouraged teamwork as multiple crew members were apart of the execution of this activity. Our winner of the entire week with the best time and safest execution was Carl Leslie Jr. from the Industrial Group.
