Barriere has long met the requirements of the Accredited Quality Contractor national certification program that Associated Builders and Contractors launched in 1993 and continues to run for its 21,000 members. For the past three years, we have officially engaged with the program.
In 2019, Barriere applied to become an Accredited Quality Contractor for the first time, and it was a success! We achieved AQC status again in 2020, and are pleased to announce that we are closing out this year as an AQC for the third time!
The AQC program recognizes companies with a well-documented commitment to Quality, Employee Benefits, Training, Community Relations and Safety.
Pursuing AQC status means pledging to commitments that Barriere made a long time ago and renews every day. As a company founded over 70 years ago and as a three-time AQC, we pledge to demonstrate a deep care for our employees and the communities where we live and work by:
- Providing our employees with the skills they need to work safely and productively
- Providing our clients with the highest quality construction services
- Thoughtfully implementing construction industry best practices
- Serving our communities
In 2020, the prestigious credential for corporate responsibility was awarded to 229 of the nation’s contractors, qualifying them all as Associated Builders and Contractors Top Performers. Barriere ranked #55 on the list our first year as AQC, #49 last year, and 2021 results are still pending.
Congratulations to the leadership and employees of Barriere Construction for your daily commitment to corporate and community service; you exemplify the merit shop philosophy and what’s best about ABC membership.
-2021 ABC National Chair of the Board of Directors Steve Klessig
To qualify for AQC certification, Barriere consistently achieves STEP Diamond status, the highest level of ABC’s Safety Training and Evaluation Process program.
AQC is recognized by Construction Users Roundtable, a national organization for leading construction project owners, which regularly recognizes Barriere for excellence in safety.
