Construction Safety Week kicks off Monday, May 2, and Barriere is excited to join more than 70 national and global construction firms with the aim of inspiring everyone in our industry to be leaders in safety. The week-long event unites construction leaders and workers around the world to provide tools and resources to encourage everyone to do their best work and return home safely every day.
At Barriere, safety is our top priority, and it is our mission to co-create a culture and workplace where everyone feels safe. Our safety goal is zero incidents, and we believe that this is possible through a safety philosophy that is rigorously incorporated into our company training methods, ongoing policies, and developments.
CONNECTED, SUPPORTED, SAFE
This year, the National Construction Safety Week theme is Connected. Supported. Safe. This theme reminds us that safety is a bond that unites us, and we are not alone in building a stronger, safer industry, and in creating safe, supportive environments for workers.
Here’s what will be at the forefront of Barriere employee training during Construction Safety Week:
SEE. STOP. DO.
We ask that the Barriere team recommits to our See. Stop. Do. Safety Pledge: “When I SEE something, I will STOP and DO something”
JOURNEY TO ZERO
We’re celebrating our Journey to Zero, our initiative toward zero safety incidents. In fact, in 2021, we’re proud to say we had our best safety performance in company history!
THE 6
We’re reiterating the six responsibilities that are integral to our companywide effort to support our Journey to Zero Incidents:
- New Employees
- Safe Zones
- Traffic Control
- Utilities
- Heat Stress
- Lock Out / Tag Out
We know that when we’re connected and supported, we are better able to help ourselves and our teams stay present, focused, and most importantly safe on the job. Thanks for joining us for Construction Safety Week!
