The $19,484,793 Mosaic Uncle Sam Secondary Containment and RCRA BHT Piping Project was part of a larger effort to ensure proper treatment, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste generated through the phosphate production of Mosaic Fertilizer, LLC. The Project had two components – civil and mechanical – with a firm January 30, 2019 delivery deadline. The civil deliverable was a double-level secondary containment system under and around eleven operational phosphoric acid tanks. The mechanical deliverable involved reconfiguration and repurposing of process piping and pumps related to the civil work, including temporary configurations to keep the plant open during construction.
“Barriere’s quality to date has exceeded Mosaic expectations. Successful concrete breaks along with successful weld-mapping, hydro testing, and X-ray of installed pipe have attributed to their overall success.”
