Barriere Earns All Three 2026 NAPA Diamond Commendations at Each Asphalt Plant

Barriere has earned nine National Asphalt Pavement Association 2026 Diamond Commendations, with each of its three Louisiana asphalt plants receiving recognition in all three program categories.

The achievement spans Barriere’s Baton Rouge, South Shore (Boutte) and North Shore (Franklinton) operations. Each location earned the Diamond Achievement Sustainable Commendation, Diamond Quality Commendation and Diamond Paving Commendation, bringing Barriere’s 2026 total to nine commendations.

The Diamond Achievement Sustainable Commendation evaluates the overall operation of an asphalt plant or site. The program considers areas such as safety, environmental practices, regulatory compliance, appearance and relationships with the surrounding community.

The Diamond Quality Commendation focuses on the systems used to consistently produce quality asphalt materials. Evaluation areas include aggregate and recycled asphalt management, storage and mixing practices, air quality controls and plant systems.

The Diamond Paving Commendation recognizes strong paving practices in the field, including crew training, equipment operation, compliance and adherence to industry best practices.

Unlike an award tied to a single project, NAPA’s Diamond program examines the broader practices that support day-to-day performance. Companies complete a detailed review of their facilities and crews to measure their operations against established industry benchmarks and identify opportunities for continued improvement.

For Barriere, the significance of this year’s recognition is not just the number of commendations earned, but the consistency behind them. Receiving all three honors at all three asphalt plants demonstrates a shared standard across locations, teams and disciplines. That consistency is built through ongoing investment in people, processes and performance, and through a culture that challenges teams to keep improving year after year.
