Barriere Wins Award for Rail Yard Expansion, Safely Supports Sustainability
Barriere’s IMTT St. Rose Olive Expansion Project recently received a Merit Award from the Associated Builders and Contractors Pelican Chapter. Members of the Barriere team and IMTT management were presented the award during the December 2021 Excellence in Construction celebration at L’Auberge Casino and Hotel in Baton Rouge.
ABC’s Excellence in Construction program has become the premier competition recognizing the most innovative and high-quality construction projects and safety programs in the country. This Merit Award project won in the Specialty Contractor > Special Construction – Industrial-Less than $10 million category.
Barriere had the largest scope of three specialty contractors that expanded the active IMTT St. Rose Terminal’s storage, transfer facility, and rail capacity, facilitating local growth in the global renewable and sustainable products markets. Despite being constructed in a live industrial setting, this project had an impeccable safety record – zero incidents – and, along with new rail and associated base and drainage work, included the largest structural steel pipe rack Barriere has ever built.
We are proud of our team and this award winning project for highlighting how Barriere excels at Industrial Specialty Construction!
