At Barriere, our goal is to attract and develop top talent then hire from within through promotions. Many of the region’s industry experts have started out with us, grown with us, and chosen to build life-long careers with us.
Barriere’s Culture of Care programs and resources are designed to support our 430 employees in pursuing their personal and our collective wellbeing. Today we begin our Culture of Care Program Spotlight series by featuring our On-the-Job Training Program.
On-the-Job Training Program
Many of Barriere’s best crafts people have developed their skills, earning power, and career satisfaction through our On-the-Job Training Program, better known as our Equipment Operator Progression Program (EOPP).
Barriere’s EOPP was in full swing prior to the establishment of the LADOTD On-the-Job Training Program that now partially funds our program. Our EOPP meets and exceeds LADOTD requirements that promote diversity in recruiting to the highway construction workforce. We do this through the progressive development of valuable industry skills in interested yet inexperienced people.
Barriere’s EOPP program is inclusive of anyone, and our goal is to promote 20% of our hourly employees over the next three years.
For those who are interested and share our values, the opportunity is ripe to apply for a career at Barriere today!
