Barriere Construction recently hosted an intern summit in Boutte, Louisiana, welcoming nine students to its summer internship program. The 2025 interns come from six different schools including The University of New Orleans, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge Community College, River Parishes Community College, Mississippi State University and Southeastern Louisiana University.
During the intern summit, the 2025 participants learned about Barriere’s culture, mission and team. Company leaders provided an introduction and shared insights on what it’s like to work at Barriere, and the training and development team outlined a dynamic summer program focused on learning, service and growth.
Through its internship program, Barriere shows its commitment to cultivating future industry leaders by providing hands-on experience and opportunities for interns to learn from professionals doing the jobs they aspire to do. Each student is assigned a supervisor to get one-on-one guidance and receive individualized feedback. While classroom learning is an important foundation for working in the construction industry, early exposure to on-the-job training can be vital — both for career decision making and for professional development.
We are pleased to welcome our 2025 summer intern class, and we look forward to working with this promising group of young professionals.
