Yesterday, the Associated Builders and Contractors announced that Barriere received a National Safety Merit Award. We were selected from ABC members that achieved Gold Status and above in ABC’s 2019 Safety Training Evaluation Process program, which is the standard for developing safety management systems in construction.
Barriere consistently achieves STEP Diamond status – the highest level. According to ABC’s annual Safety Performance Report, the average STEP Diamond company is more than eight times safer than the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ average for the entire industry.
Safety is at the heart of everything Barriere does.
Our 2019 efforts earned the company the following National safety awards:

- American Road and Transportation Builders Association Contractor Safety Award – First Place for companies with 500,000 to 1M hours/year
- Construction Users Roundtable Construction Industry Safety Excellence Award – Honorable Mention for Heavy Construction Contractors with 500,000 to 3M hours/year
