About Our Summer Internship Program
Barriere Construction Company’s Summer Internship Program began approximately 20 years ago and has proven to be a useful, powerful, and successful recruiting tool helping us to find the brightest young talent to bring fresh and innovative new ideas to Barriere. Successful candidates will work as Field or Safety Engineers for the summer; therefore, the overall goal of the program is to recruit the best of the best Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering Technology, Occupational Health, Safety, & Environmental and Accounting students each year with the hope of retaining them for full-time positions with Barriere.
The program also seeks to create a remarkable and unparalleled learning experience for students, so that they will think enthusiastically about the highway/heavy construction industry. Each summer, we strive to ensure that students experience the benefits of working for a 21st Century Construction Company, where they can gain valuable hands-on experience, working directly with Project Managers in the office and Field Engineers, Superintendents, and Foremen in the field. We sincerely hope that our efforts will create a pipeline for the best of the best to join Barriere upon graduation and keep Barriere supervisors in touch with the new generation of workers by providing a superior group of candidates to preview each year.
