Barriere provides the Health Watch newsletter to keep you informed on the ways you can maintain or improve your health. Additionally, we offer opportunities for FREE health screenings throughout the year. We encourage you to take advantage of these programs as well as our Wellness Program described below. To be well, be safe, and do good work is the foundation of a successful lifestyle.
Barriere Wellness Program
Through our Wellness Program, Barriere offers all employees a 15% monthly discount on health insurance costs if both the employee and their spouse (if on the medical plan) complete the online health risk appraisal by the annual deadline.
Barriere wants all employees to receive the 15% discount, and will assist you in completing the online health risk appraisal if necessary.
The health risk appraisal is designed to give you feedback on your overall health status, and to identify those at-risk health behaviors which you can change to reduce your chance of developing, or worsening, significant health problems. Preventing and/or managing major health care concerns helps to reduce health care costs for you and for Barriere.
You will need to have the following info on hand to complete the appraisal:
- Barriere’s passkey code
- Primary card holder ID & Social Security Number
- Create your User ID & Password
- Your total cholesterol number
- HDL or “good” cholesterol number
- Blood Pressure
- Height & Weight
- Current immunizations
- Date of last physician’s visit
After completing the health risk appraisal, you will receive your wellness score and lifestyle suggestions on how to better your health. Take some time to read over your health risk report and consider it’s recommendations. Your daily lifestyle choices can greatly impact the long-term quality of your life.
