Now after more than 55 years of continuously serving the Louisiana construction industry, Barriere still adheres to those same guiding principles. The third-generation family members who own and operate Barriere today bring to every project, no matter how large or small, that same insistence on quality and service. Giving their personal attention to each job, the Wilsons provide a unique industry experience that can only be grounded in the consistency of family management.

As the foundation of the company's operations, Barriere's construction crews are composed of individuals who possess a wealth of knowledge regarding local soil conditions, specifications and standards. Among Barriere's 400 employees are registered professional engineers and trained project managers, as well as professionals in safety, training, risk management and quality control.

STEP AWARD

This past November, Barriere was awarded our fifth consecutive (2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005) National Association of Building Contractors’ (ABC) highest-level safety award - Platinum Level - Safety Training and Evaluation Process Award (STEP). In order to obtain this award Barriere had to satisfactorily respond to a twenty-point safety program evaluation audit, summit safety performance statistics including a letter from our insurance broker attesting to the accuracy of our responses, EMR levels for the periods reported and the results of the program evaluation audit. To be eligible to win the Platinum level award, Barriere had to achieve “Gold” level performance for two consecutive years.
